Are bones safe for puppies?

by benergic

There are different types of bones, from round, pointed to thick and thinner bones.

Pointed bones (chicken, rabbit, etc.) should be definitively banned as they run the risk of freezing in the animal’s esophagus and causing esophageal obstruction or intestinal obstruction.

Large round bones (such as beef tibia) may optionally be offered. But if you want to “guide” your puppy to gnaw to prevent it from attacking various objects in the house, there are ” treats or rewards” of the jerk type on the market which can have the same effect without being a danger of the health of the pet.
